Summer construction: Stevens Way closure now in effect

With many students gone during summer quarter, various construction projects will be taking place on or around campus that may impact your commute. We will continue to update this website as new information becomes available. Be sure to check back often for the most updated information.

Bus stop closures, July 29 through August 30

Two construction projects on campus will impact bus service on Stevens Way from Monday, July 29 through Friday, August 30. The bus stop closure map below shows the bus stop closures, alternate stops and temporary stops. Project details are listed in the headings below for the N22 Upgrade project and the Population Health Building project.

Bus stop closures, alternate stops and temporary stops are in effect July 29 - August 30 for the N22 Upgrade Project and Population Health project.
 

Community Transit has published available stop information for ST 540 and all Community Transit 800s routes during the Stevens Way closure.  

N22 Upgrade Project

The N22 lot will be closed July 8 through late September for construction. This work will upgrade the lot to comply with the most recent accessibility standards.

Monday, July 29 - Thursday, August 15

A portion of Stevens Way will be closed from Monday, July 29 - Thursday, August 15. The closure segment spans from Pend Oreille Road to the UW Club and will affect cars, buses, bicycles and pedestrians.

New Population Health Building

August 16 - 30

To help facilitate the continued construction of the new Population Health building, a portion of Stevens Way will be closed from Friday, August 16 - Friday, August 30. The closure segment spans from Grant Lane crossing to Asotin crossing and will affect cars, buses, bicycles and pedestrians.

Southbound Stevens Way traffic will be redirected through Okanogon Lane around Benson Hall and the Chemistry Library building, ultimately flowing back onto Stevens Way.

Pedestrians will be rerouted around closure area as indicated in the map above. 

 

Burke-Gilman Trail

August 16 - 18

On Friday, August 16 at 6 a.m., the Burke-Gilman Trail will be closed through Sunday, August 18 at 6 p.m. for tree removal work performed by UW Grounds. The Burke Gilman Trail will be closed from the south side of Pend Oreille to the north side of Snohomish Lane. The overpass crossings at Whatcom Lane and Wahkiakum Road will remain open during this closure.
