May is Bike Everywhere Month at the University of Washington. Whether you are a seasoned cyclist or haven’t been on a bicycle in years, this is the time to enjoy the spring weather and celebrate biking. Learn how you can participate in our Bike Month events below.
Bike Stamp Card
During the month of May head to the Transportation Services office or the ASUW Bike Shop to give yourself a stamp on the day you ride. Get 5 stamps and return your card to the basket at the TS office to be entered in a raffle for a grand prize of an Ortlieb pannier set and more!
Wednesday, May 6
On National Bike to School Day, UW Transportation Services invites you to commit to biking, scooting, or rolling to school. Whether it’s your first ride of the season, or a part of your regular commute – we encourage you to start your day with an active commute!
12pm - 1pm
Join UW Sustainability and UW Transportation Services for a lunch hour bike tour of some of campus’s sustainability features. Meet on the north side of the HUB (outside the ASUW Bike Shop) at noon with your bike. We’ll have an easy-paced hourlong ride on campus, with stops to point out sustainable buildings and green spaces on campus. 30 participants maximum, please register at The Whole U event page.
1pm - 3pm
Stop by the ASUW Bike Shop anytime between 1pm–3pm and meet the students that make it all happen!
The Bike Shop provides affordable bike services and is a safe space to learn about and work on bicycles. Connect with other cyclists on campus, discuss gear, and hang out. There will be snacks, free helmets and stickers while supplies last.
7am - 10am
UW is hosting a celebration station on Bike Everywhere Day on from 7 to 10 a.m. on Wednesday, May 13, with snacks and give-aways for participating cyclists. The UW Transportation Services Station will be located on the Burke Gilman Trail, just southwest of the Life Sciences building.
For a list of all participating celebration stations in the Seattle area and other Bike Everywhere Month events, visit the Cascade Bicycle Club's website.
