Starting July 1, 2026, the E16 parking lot at the Center for Urban Horticulture is moving to paid parking, as part of a campus-wide effort to bring all UW lots into alignment with current parking policy and state law.
We worked to keep this change as visitor-friendly as possible. The first two hours of parking remain free, and the daily maximum is $5. Free parking continues after noon on Saturdays, all day Sunday, and on University holidays.
Here's what to expect at E16 starting July 1:
- The first two hours of parking remain free.
- Parking beyond two hours is $5 for the day.
- All vehicles, including those parking for free, must register using the on-site kiosk or the PayByPhone app.
- Enforcement hours are Monday–Friday, 6 a.m.–9 p.m. and Saturday, 7 a.m.–noon. Parking is free outside those hours.
- Guests attending scheduled private events in designated event parking areas will not be charged during event hours.
UW retirees with a valid daily permit obtained through the online customer portal may continue to park at E16, subject to space availability, just as in our other complimentary lots.
