Happy fall!

It is that time of year again when we welcome our students to the University of Washington. With the large number of students moving into residence halls as and nearby off-campus housing, there will be an increase in traffic and parking will be in high demand.

UW’s official move-in dates are Tuesday, September 19 through Friday, September 22, 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. During this time, students and their families have a 30-minute window to unload their vehicle and then they must move their vehicle to a nearby self-serve parking lot.

Please note how your parking may be affected during this move-in dates and times:

West Campus:

Students living in West Campus residence halls will queue in their vehicles on Boat Street and in W10 Parking Lot for check in. Depending on the hall they are moving into, vehicles will then be instructed to unload in either W08 Parking Garage Poplar Alley, W33 Parking Lot, NE 40th St (closed between Brooklyn Ave NE and University Way NE), or NE 41st St (closed between 12th Ave NE and University Way NE).

North Campus:

Students living in North Camus residence halls will queue in their vehicles in E01 Parking Lot. Depending on the hall they are moving into, vehicles will then be instructed to unload in either Klickitat Lane, North town square, the McCarty circle, or along sluʔwiɫ (in front of McMahon).

Expect delays and alternative routes during move-in. We recommend using public transportation or arranging to telework during this time to alleviate congestion. Make sure to check routes and schedules since they may be altered.

Thank you for your patience as we welcome new students to campus!
