If your vehicle breakdown occurs during business hours (Monday - Friday, 6 a.m. - 2:30 p.m.), Fleet Services will coordinate vehicle towing.

If a vehicle breakdown occurs after business hours contact WEX Roadside Assistance: 866-329-3471. Please be prepared to provide: Your Name, Contact Phone Number, Company Name, Location of disablement, Vehicle Description, Nature of disablement, Driver ID/Prompt ID #, Tow destination, WEX Card #.

If the dealership or maintenance shop is unable to fix the vehicle in time to meet your schedule, contact any contract rental agency for alternative transportation.

If you are unsuccessful with obtaining alternative transportation, please coordinate the safest travel alternative for yourself. Keep all receipts. Inform the Fleet Services Maintenance Shop of the vehicle breakdown as soon as possible. All repairs must be authorized through the Fleet Services Maintenance Shop. Assigned vehicles

If the assigned vehicle breaks down on campus or in the Seattle Area move the vehicle to a safe location and call the Fleet Services Maintenance Shop during business hours. If the vehicle is not in a safe location or unable to be moved and you can not reach the Fleet Services Maintenance Shop, call Day N Nite Towing at 206-633-5400 and have the vehicle towed to the Fleet Services Shop at 4659 25th Ave NE, Seattle WA 98105.

Towing a vehicle

Schedule service

Vehicle maintenance notices are emailed to departments with assigned vehicles weekly. Please contact the Fleet Service shop at 206-685-1564 between 6 a.m. and 2 p.m. Monday through Friday to make your appointment once you receive a maintenance notice.

If you cannot make your appointment, please call the Fleet Shop to reschedule.

If your vehicle needs repair, contact the Fleet Shop as soon as possible to schedule an appointment. Continuing to drive a vehicle in need of maintenance may cause further damage to mechanical components and can result in costly charges to your department. Do not attempt to repair an assigned vehicle. Do not take an assigned vehicle to a shop prior to receiving Fleet Services’ authorization. If a repair is needed out-of-area, Fleet Services will set up an appointment with an approved local vendor.

Loaner vehicles

Fleet Services has a small fleet of loaner vehicles. If available, they may be obtained from the Fleet Services Rental Office once an assigned vehicle has been checked in with the Fleet Services Shop. If you have questions about the types of loaner vehicles available prior to dropping off your vehicle, please contact the Rental Office at 206-221-3594 or email fsrent@uw.edu

We encourage clients to rent UCARs if they want a guarantee of a vehicle while their vehicle is in for service. The E2 Parking Lot is conveniently located near the Fleet Services Office.
