Transportation Services customers may encounter problems purchasing parking products through our online Customer Portal using credit or debit cards. This issue began on January 29, when a software error started causing transaction failures for some customers who were trying to purchase a product or permit. The vendor who provides this service to Transportation Services has restored service for most customers identified so far, but is still working on resolving the problem system-wide.

Some customers may still experience errors on the payment processing page, but the issue should  be fully resolved soon. PaybyPhone parking is unaffected by this issue, and campus gatehouses can issue permits to customers who cannot use PayByPhone or the Customer Portal.

Customers who tried to purchase and were charged for a transaction but did not receive the permit or product should request a refund. Please send an email request to ucommute@uw.edu with “refund request” in the subject line. Include the following information in your email:

  • UW NetID
  • Date of charge
  • The product or permit you were trying to purchase

Transportation Services’ accounting department is working hard to ensure that refunds are issued in a timely manner. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause for affected customers.
