Congratulations on joining UW as a resident or fellow. There are many parking options available to you as an employee and we invite you to learn more about them at our Faculty & staff parking page. If you have further questions after reviewing this information online, contact Transportation Services at ucommute@uw.edu.
The following two options are available pay-as-you-go parking options.
Pay-per-use parking (PPUP)
As a Pay-per-use parking permit holder you will only be charged for the days you actually park. PPUP must be paid for with payroll deductions through UW payroll. You will be billed at the end of each pay period.
Pay-per-use parking is available to new residents and fellows in the Portage Bay Garage. Other PPUP locations, such as E12, are subject to space availability. If you are interested in parking elsewhere, please indicate this on the PPUP application form.
The rate for PPUP is $9.84/day (effective July 1, 2024).
Follow the Sign up for Pay-per-use parking instructions below to get started.
Daily permits
Daily permits can be purchased in certain lots for same-day parking or for a specific day up to two weeks in advance. They can be purchased online with a credit card. Lot selections are based on space availability at the time of purchase. Daily permits are not available in all lots.
The rate for a Daily permit is $9.84/day or $3.28/night (effective July 1, 2024).
Return policy: You may only return Daily permits for future days paid and they can be returned up to the day before they are active. Daily permits cannot be returned for days past, even if unused. Review our return policy for more information.
Follow the Sign up for Daily permit parking instructions below to get started.
If you purchase or sign up for one of these options, the other option will not be available to you (ex. If you sign up for Pay-per-use parking, you will be unable to purchase Daily permits).
This Pay-per-use parking sign up form is intended for new residents & fellows who are a part of UW Medicine’s Graduate Medical Education program. This form is prohibited from being shared with anyone outside of this program.

Accurate vehicle information completed in your online customer account including make, year, and license plate number

Why we need this information
UW NetID
Your UW NetID confirms your UW affiliation as an employee and allows our parking system to sell you employee parking permits. If there are no UW NetID credentials for us to reference, we are unable to sell you the parking products that are available to you as an employee.
Vehicle information
Submitting accurate vehicle information through your online customer account saves time in processing your parking request. It is important to put in accurate vehicle information to reduce the risk of citation. If you do not currently have a Washington state license plate, please submit your current license plate information. For more information about how to enter your license plate information online, please visit our customer portal guide.
Husky Card
Your UW Husky Card grants you access to the garage while we send you an AVI access card for your vehicle.
Are you ready?
Do you have your Husky Card and UW NetID information available? Have you submitted accurate vehicle information in your online customer account?

the prerequisites
If you’re not ready, please return to this page when you have acquired your Husky Card, your UW NetID information and when you have successfully updated your customer account with accurate vehicle information.
